Ivy Tech Offers White Belt Certification Training

Are you ready to improve your daily processes?

Continuous improvement is integral to success in all types of organizations and sizes of business. In many areas of business and industry, today's workforce needs to be equipped in the basic tools of quality assurance, problem solving, understanding customer relations, project team work and eliminating waste.

Plan to attend Ivy Tech’s “White Belt” Certification training on August 18, 2016 at the Franklin campus. The training is offered in partnership with the Johnson County Development Corporation, the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce and the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. The training will assist participants in attaining valuable skills and knowledge in continuous improvement in a business setting, healthcare, manufacturing and many other industries.

What is a Six Sigma White Belt?

The structure of Six Sigma allows members of a team to know their responsibilities and expectations, even before a major project is underway. Using a belt system, much like the system used in martial arts, allows teams to work together efficiently and productively. It can be applied in a variety of industries and business sizes. The white belt is vital to the Six Sigma process for two main reasons: first, competent white belts provide support through collection and understanding of information and proficient insight into how the processes are working. Second, the white belt level is the foundation for business leaders and employees from which they grow in their leadership roles, or move into a new leadership role.

There is NO COST to attend this training, but registration is required.

Ivy Tech's Certified Quality Trainers will teach this eight hour noncredit workshop. The final exam is a 30 minute test and will be administered at the end of the session.

Training will be held on Thursday, August 18 at the Franklin Ivy Tech campus, 2205 McClain Dr., Franklin 46131. Class will meet in rooms 112 & 113, and will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be on your own. Please visit www.ivytech.edu/quality for more information and to register.
