Greenwood Chamber First in Nation to Adopt New Networking App

Software Helps Members Network, Communicate with Other Businesses and Chamber

The Greater Greenwood Chamber has partnered with Indiana-based start-up Socio to provide a convenient and effective way for members to build their business networks, engage with one another and receive updates from the chamber. The chamber is the first such organization in the country to adopt this new technology, which was developed in Indiana.

“This new app is a win-win for our members and for the chamber,” said Chamber President and CEO Christian Maslowski. “For our members, the chamber is embracing new technology to enhance their business networking process. In addition, it allows the chamber to connect with our members in a whole new way and help us create the best possible networking environment for them. And since the Socio app transforms networking data into meaningful information, the chamber can better analyze and understand how our members utilize the chamber and its programs.”

Socio’s app combines all the various points of contact for a member into one listing that can be synchronized with their contact list in Outlook or another information manager. When members change their contact information, those members they have shared contact information with will automatically receive those updates.

In addition, Socio provides an unrivaled networking experience to members attending events. The Digital Handshake’s “Shake & Connect” functionality revolutionizes the way contact information is shared, analyzed and accessed. Attendees simply shake their Android or Apple phones together to share contact information and social media more completely and efficiently than ever before. By using the app, attendees optimize their networking opportunities by having real-time visibility of who is at the event and what they do.

Beyond sharing information with attendees, the chamber can also use Socio internally to easily update its customer relationship management system, analyze event data, review networking trends and keep members informed of chamber updates via real-time notifications.

“The chamber is committed to member value, advocacy efforts and engagement, and we believe the Socio app will help us fulfill our mission,” Maslowski said. “There is no cost to members. The chamber’s partnership with Socio is designed to benefit members. The chamber values relationships and this is one more way our members can build those with one another.” He added that the app was introduced to members in July and that all chamber events going forward will be connected with Socio. Members can go to the App Store or Google Play Store and download the free Socio app. Next steps are to login and start connecting.

Socio Labs co-founder Yarkin Sakucoglu said, “Christian and the entire Greater Greenwood Chamber team are leading the way in Indiana and setting the standard for member engagement and networking, taking it to a new level.”
