GREENWOOD, Ind. – The City of Greenwood has announced the launch of its new website, www.greenwood.in.gov. With a modern design featuring large-scale, captivating imagery, the new site showcases a variety of community assets offered to residents, visitors and businesses. City officials say user experience was a top priority during the process. “I’m extremely proud of the progress we’ve made during the past five years, and this new website is both an example of and communication vehicle for that progress,” said Mayor Mark W. Myers. “Our goal was to put Greenwood’s best foot forward, while at the same time making it easier for residents and businesses to interact with the city. Successful citizen engagement requires a strong digital presence, and we’ve seen a very positive response thus far.” Myers said transparency was another primary factor. “Greenwood has so much available information, and we’re working with companies on the forefront of municipal software to make that information accessible and digestible to the public,” said Myers. “We’re confident the new website, with a more approachable design and navigation, will encourage citizens and companies doing business in Greenwood to access these resources with greater frequency.” The website project was spurred by city officials and Greenwood’s Redevelopment Commission (RDC), charged with business growth and attraction. “A community’s website is one of the most important mechanisms for drawing commercial interest,” said RDC President Brent Tilson. “You have to tell your story and do it well, both visually and with a compelling narrative. Greenwood offers tremendous opportunity for a number of industries, with businesses both large and small. It’s about starting a dialogue, and we think the new site will generate even more interest in what Greenwood has to offer.”
