Chamber Wins Marketing Award from State Association

The Greater Greenwood Chamber was awarded a 2017 “Excellence in Communications Awards” from the Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA).

The Chamber won the “marketing campaign” award for its weekly "What's Up Wednesday" member visits.  The goal of this member outreach is to visit members' companies and learn about their business. This helps educate the Chamber staff on what members do every day, and having this knowledge allows the staff to better connect members with one another (potential buyers with sellers; mentors with mentees; potential referral partners; etc.).

The Chamber staff takes pictures with the members to post on Chamber social media channels.  The Chamber also shares fun facts or specials for each member (i.e. “what’s up!”).  Visit the Chamber's Facebook page to see a recent visit.

Award submissions were evaluated by a committee of out-of-state experienced chamber professionals and expert private-sector marketing professionals. ICEA maintains a minimum 90% average evaluation score needed to win an award. Only about half of award submissions are awarded.

This is the fifth consecutive year the Greater Greenwood Chamber received an Excellence in Communications Award from ICEA.

The Indiana Chamber Executives Association is the statewide association focusing on professional development and best practices for staff members leading local chambers of commerce in Indiana. Founded in 1915, ICEA membership is comprised of more than 275 professional staff members representing one hundred local chambers of commerce from around the state. More at www.ICEAonline.com.
