Chamber CEO Christian Maslowski Namd Indiana Chamber Executive of the Year

The Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA) has named Christian Maslowski its 2018 Executive of the Year. He is the president and chief executive officer of the Greater Greenwood Chamber and received the honor at the Association’s annual conference in Indianapolis. Maslowski has served as president and CEO of the Chamber since 2007.

The Association chooses the winner based on criteria including a minimum of three years on the job, demonstration of exemplary performance and leadership, and demonstrated ability to lead change at the local chamber level. The nomination process includes a brief essay about why the nominee is deserving of the award.

“Christian serves as the ideal candidate for this recognition,” said Shelli Williams, IOM, ICEA president. “He goes above-and-beyond with a willingness to help peers succeed. Peers across Indiana have great respect for what Christian brings to the profession.”

Greater Greenwood Chamber board chair and superintendent of Greenwood Community Schools, Kent DeKoninck, Ph.D., stated as part of his nomination, “What most impresses me is his work ‘behind the scenes’ on several issues. As we all know, so much valuable work happens in the trenches. Some of the issues relating to the impact of businesses may not have had the same outcome were it not for Christian’s work.”

Chamber board member and general counsel for Greenwood-based Endress+Hauser, Marisol Sanchez, added, “Christian’s leadership is exemplified not only through his ability to lead our local Chamber, but also through his ability to be a leader, partner, convener, and collaborator on a regional and state-wide level.

And his focus on business advocacy has earned him a lot of respect from our public officials and business community to the point in that he is viewed as a trusted advisor.”

Christian Maslowski acknowledged his success is the result of a team effort. "This is one of the greatest honors of my career. I am grateful to have an amazing board and staff leadership team eager to support all the amazing people leading local business."

Williams also stated, “We thank our awards sponsor, Old National Bank, for recognizing what can happen within local communities when an impactful leader is at the helm of the local chamber.”

The Indiana Chamber Executives Association is the statewide association focusing on professional development and best practices for staff members leading all local chambers of commerce in Indiana. Founded in 1915, ICEA membership is comprised of more than 275 professional staff members representing one hundred local chambers of commerce from around the state. More at www.ICEAonline.com.
